Blood&Magic: The Gathering: Outcasts
“Have you heard about it? It’s happening earlier this year. Somehow. Somehow the tradition doesn’t matter anymore…to Brujas…”she looked at him deviously. She was definitely plotting.
Lucius sank deeper into the sofa and gulped the remainder of his dinner. Bringing his pale forearm to his lips, he wiped off the deep red liquid. “Well, well… what gives, Mirage?”
“Apparently, this year, your beloved Andrea is presiding The Gathering. Ha!” she released a high pitched sigh. “We weren’t even invited!”
“Ooooh, I see… Andrea…he’s quite a bland guy isn’t he? Surely, we don’t want the participants to die of boredom? He stood up and stretched. “When was the last time we had some fun? We’ve been getting too comfortable in this dungeon. Getting lazy…what can you do with a lazy vampire? Having his dinner from a glass…”
“I thought you would never say that!” she squeaked excitedly. “Who are they to tell us what we are supposed to do? They are not us. How could they understand? They think we are their dogs? Keeping us on a leash… Time to remind them that we are wolves. I can bet miss Salvatore missed me!” Mirage squeaked with excitement.
Silas watched the show with silent amusement. Mirage was always stirring the pot. It was true that they’ve been lying in wait for quite a while and the atmosphere became stale. Andrea… Lucius was underestimating him. A barking dog never bites, Lucius. You bark a lot. Andrea doesn’t… Silas could recognize his own. Andrea was vicious. And that meant only one thing… the game was on!
Mirage was performing her little victory dance, “Kieran, what are you going to do when we get there!? Have you heard that Emille was promoted into Andrea’s right-hand man? Your long-lost friend… who sucked your poor girlfriend dry!” She dramatically sang. “I think it’s time for revenge! The dish certainly got cold after 56 years… you can serve it to him… stone cold!”
There was no need for reminders, Mirage. Kieran knew exactly where Emille was and what he was doing. In the meantime, he got stronger. Nobody ever met a vampire werewolf… how are you going to deal with that Emille? No witchcraft can help you with that combo. It was time to pay a visit to an old friend.
